ITANAGAR, Oct 9: Aka and Miji communities residing in the state capital celebrated

Extending the festival greeting to the Aka and Miji communities on the occasion as Chief Guest, Arunachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Chairman Jalley Sonam appreciated the Aka and Miji Capital Complex Welfare Committee for organizing the festival.
He appealed both the communities to preserve and promote own tradition and customs and particularly suggested the organizing committee to celebrate the Chindang festival in a grand way in the state capital in near future with the involvement of Aka and Miji communities residing in their main homeland.
Further, briefing on the limited job opportunities in private and government sectors in the state and importance of agriculture and horticulture in the tribal communities, he advised the youth to take up Horticulture and Agricultural activities in their respective area.
He assured to extend all possible help to the Aka and Miji communities living in the state capital and urged them to remain unite for the development of the community. Further, he advised the student of Aka and Miji communities studying in the state capital to devote in their studies and spread the importance of education to the rural people of their respective community.
Meanwhile, being a worker’s leader, Sonam highlighted the benefits of the workers provided by the APB&OCWWB and appealed the gathering to convey the message of the board to the worker community of the society and also appealed talent artist of the community to participate in the voice of Arunachal Contest.

Civil societies urged to join hand to protect wildlife
ITANAGAR, Oct 9: B S Sajwan, PCCF, head of forest force today called upon all civil societies to join hand with the forest department to protect the precious wildlife in Arunachal Pradesh.
Addressing the valedictory function of the 56th wildlife week observation at Biological Part, Itanagar yesterday, Sajwan, who is also principal secretary, department of environment and forest, said rich biodiversity including wildlife of the state should be conserved at any cost. He appealed one and all including Govt officials and students to take a pledge to protect wildlife. He further said it is not possible for forest department alone to save and protect wildlife without cooperation of civil societies. The chief guest Sajwan also released Zoo brochure to mark the occasion.

They had done their adventure course from Lamden Manipur in 2009, Basic Mountaineering Course from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarakand and later done their advance course from Himalaya Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling.
ZPM for early restoration of tele connectivity
DIRANG, Oct 9: Dirang Zilla Parishad Member Dor Tsering has appealed the BSNL general manager to restore tele connectivities of Dirang village particularly of Industrial Training Institute and Sericulture colonies.
While pointing out that tele connectivities of these areas had been lying defunct for the past seven years due to washing away of cable in flash floods, the ZPM said that it is affecting the smooth conduct of training of students at ITI learning communications, electronics and courses in technology. ‘The people of the area comprising 500 inhabitants have also written several times to BSNL authorities and the SDOT Bomdila had given assurances on a number of occasions including in writing for the restoration work but it is yet to happen till this day’, lamented the ZPM. He also appealed the GM to order early restoration of the defunct mobile tower at Dirang village to facilitate better communication. ‘The people of this area are facing acute problem due to lack of communication facilities and we will go to consumer court if BSNL authorities do not take urgent and early remedial measures in the matter’, the ZPM added.
ITANAGAR, Oct 9: The Pharmaceutical Advisory Forum (PAF), an autonomous advisory body of the government of India headed by chemicals and fertilizer minister as chairman, has been reconstituted recently by incorporating three members from each state.
The health minister, the drug controller and a representative of chemist association of each state besides two representatives of consumers to be nominated by respective health department will be the members of the body.
The national members are representatives of All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD), National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), Indian Drug Manufacturing Association (IDMA), Organization of Pharmaceutical Production Industries (OPPI), among others.
AIOCD president JS Shinde, while informing Arunachal Pradesh Chemists & Druggists Association president Likha Taji, the former ANSU president, about the development, stressed the importance of the Forum and asked Taji to make meaningful contributions through deliberations and suggestions at national level as a PAF member in evolving drug policy, cost effective quality production of medicines and availability of quality essential pharmaceuticals of mass consumption at reasonable price.
The Forum aims at meaningful dialogues among all the stakeholders to achieve the goal in the larger interest of the countrymen.

ITANAGAR, Oct 9: In continuation of its awareness campaign the Road Safety Cell PHQ has organized a training programme on safe driving for the drivers and handymen of private school buses of Itanagar at Kingcup Higher Secondary School Itanagar yesterday.
Altogether 47 drivers of school vehicles of Itanagar participated in the training.
PHQ traffic SP Apang Tamut has highlighted the importance of defensive driving and other safety measures on road. The resource persons of the programme also gave special emphasis on safe driving while transporting school children.
Inspector KVG Pillai of Road Safety Cell with his team demonstrated defensive driving technique through power point presentation and highlighted details on road accident and other importance information regarding road safety. APACU pleads for release of arrested orgs leaders

While urging the Govt to release the leaders, the union termed the arrest illegal saying that they are fighting against corruption in the state through democratic means such as bandh call.
The Govt is advocating against bandh culture when the corruption culture is going on and corrupted people are roaming freely, the union said and resented that persons who are fighting against the corruption are detained.
Meanwhile, the union further demanded arrest of all accused in the PDS scam. If the authorities are unable to take appropriate action against all those accused, they should hand over the PDS case to CBI for fair investigation, the union added.

He informed the trainees that the IUD insertion rate in the country is only 2% in comparison to China’s 60%. The training is meant to improve this number and thus contributing in the population stabilization. Saaksar Bharat Committee formed
AALO, Oct 9: A preparatory meeting for constitution of the Saaksar Bharat committee under Saaksar Bharati Mission was held at Aalo on Oct 7 last.
While presiding over the meeting, West Siang Deputy Commissioner Amjad Tak said that the Mission was launched particularly to enhance women’s literacy rate. Stating that education of women will help to educate the whole society, he sought the support of the PRI members and NGOs to make the mission a success. He also announced the members of the Saaksar Bharat Committee.

KKDPRCC formed
ITANAGAR: The Kurung Kumey District Panchayati Raj Coordination Committee (KKDPRCC) has been formed in a meeting of all ZPMs, Anchal chairpersons and ASMs of the district at Koloriang on Oct 4 last. The members unanimously selected Taring Bath as chairman, Bengia Yadek, vice chairman and Tadar Ado as general secretary.
The meeting held under banner of Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Coordination Committee” also discussed devolution of power, fiannce and functionaries under 29 subjects of the Panchayati Raj.
